A NAMI-Ipsos poll conducted in January 2024 and focused on full-time workers employed at companies with at least 100 employees, found that most Americans believe itโs appropriate to talk about mental health at work but may not be prepared or feel comfortable to do so. Additionally, the poll found that American employees benefit from having access to mental health care coverage and need more help to understand and utilize what resources are available to them.
Itโs more common than you may think: 1 in 5 adults in the U.S. experiences mental illness each year. Letโs break the stigma together with open, compassionate conversations.
May is Mental Health Awareness Month, so LITE 105 & NAMI are committing to spending the month reminding our listeners that your mental health matters and that youโre not alone. โIn Every Story, Thereโs Strengthโ is uniting the mental health community with one story at a time. The hope is that we can work together to begin a journey to mitigate the impact of mental illness in our community.
