“The 12 Strays of Christmas!”

Lite 105 presents 2022 “The 12 Strays of Christmas!”

This Christmas, we’re putting the spotLITE on 12 animals who need loving forever homes!!

MON 12/6: Meet our first animal up for adoption at the RISPCA >> JENNY! The RISPCA writes “Hi, My name is Jenny and I am so excited to be your new best friend. I’m a cattle dog mix so I have lots of energy to burn, but also LOTS of love to give! I’m your perfect summer adventure buddy! I’m cute as a button and have a permanent party ear! It just grew that way! Witnessing my zoomies will make anyone’s day! I’m not a fan of small fast animals like cats. I LOVE all humans! The kennel staff feel that the best fit for me would be kids 13+ only because they say my exuberance may be a bit much for little ones!

Tues 12/6: Our 2nd animal is: KALI!  Kali is 3-yrs-old and has lived with both dogs and cats before. She’d also be happy to be your one & only. Learn more here.

Wed 12/7: Our 3rd animal is FINN the Cat! Finn is a 1 & 1/2-year-old female cat… The RISPCA says “Finn is a beautiful petite lady with the prettiest golden eyes. She is fantastic with kids of all ages and could even go to a home with a low-key, cat-savvy dog (with a proper introduction of course!) Unfortunately, it was discovered that Finn is positive for Feline Leukemia which is contagious to other cats. For this reason, she should either be the only cat in the home or could share a home with another cat that has it too. Today Finn is healthy, however, a high percentage of cats with FeLV will have a shortened life span. Finn’s adoption package includes a consultation with the vet staff to discuss what this diagnosis means for Finn.”

Thurs 12/8: Our 4th animals are Charlotte & Gidget (bonded 1yo female guinea pigs)! From the RISPCA: “These two lovely ladies have been hanging out with one of our staff members for the last few months to ensure they were a-okay for their new homes! These girls love nothing more than living life together side by side and popcorning about while making the happiest sounds! Gidget is super food motivated and loves hopping into some fresh hay and stuffing her nose into her daily bowl of pellets. Charlotte is a little bit more shy and sassy and tends to wait a few seconds before coming out and eating by her sister’s side. When it’s time for a nap, you’ll find these two snuggled up to each other in their hide nose to bum!.”

FRI 12/9: Our 5th animal is Fri – Coyote – a 2&1/2 yo female German Shepherd – and there’s no adoption fee courtesy of ANCHOR SUBARU From the RISPCA: Coyote is a sweet Shepherd girl in need of a low-key, adults-only home. Coyote enjoys slow walks around the block and just hanging out on the couch. She does not enjoy being left alone, so having an owner that works from home would be ideal. During Coyote’s intake exam, she was found to have a limp that needed to be further explored. After having x-rays, it was discovered that she had suffered a broken femur at some point in her life, which ended up healing improperly. After multiple medical consults with the best of the best doctors, the RISPCA found the perfect place to help her and the costs will be covered.

SAT 12/10: Our 6th animal is Willow- a 10-year-old female cat! From the RISPCA: Willow is a bit of a needy gal who loves attention and affection! She is extremely friendly and loves everyone she meets. Willow also loves to play – with pretty much any toy, she isn’t picky! Willow has lived with cats in the past, and with a slow and proper introduction, we think she would do just fine with a kitty friend. She should go to an adult-only home, or to a home with cat-savvy teens.

SUN 12/11: Our 7th animal is Marble – a 3-year-old female pitbull! From the RISPCA: Introducing Miss Marble!  Marble is a sweet 3-year-old Pitbull that is as gentle as they come. Don’t let those cropped ears fool you! She loves running around and getting her zoomies out in our play yard, so she would be quite content with a backyard of her very own! This loyal girl would make an excellent companion and can’t wait to become somebody’s very own best friend!

MON 12/12: Our 8th animals are 2 bonded ferrets named Leia & Slink! From the RISPCA: These bonded girls were a little shy at first but they quickly warmed up and became a staff favorite! They love to run around and explore, and may even enjoy a good game of chase! When they are not running around exploring every nook and cranny, you’ll find them either hiding under their blankets or inside one of their favorite tunnels. Leia has Adrenal disease (a common problem for ferrets) and she will need to go to an exotic vet to get an implant once a year to keep it under control. Our vet team will happily go over what this will entail with potential adopters during the adoption screening process.

TUES 12/13: Our 9th animal is Paco – a 3yo pitbull mix. (*His adoption fee is sponsored by Anchor Subaru through 12/31) From the RISPCA: My name is Paco and I am a silly, athletic guy! I absolutely love running and would love to have a big fenced-in backyard to run around in… or better yet, I could be your adventure buddy, running partner, hiking companion…you name it…I just love being active. I’ve improved in so many areas since living here, like my leash walking. Now I enjoy all the sniffs and sights rather than pulling my human all over the place. I have a special friend here who takes me all the time and she really loves me. She says I’m a good boy and getting better every day. I am a big goofball who can sometimes forget how big I am, and I would not want to mow down your little ones, so a home with adults might be best. I would also prefer to be your one and only fur child. I hope that’s not a deal breaker… I’m really lovable and eager to please!

WED 12/14: Our 10th animals are Fanny & Jessica, 2 bonded female rabbits! From the RISPCA: These two lovely, bonded girls do everything together! They are very friendly and outgoing, not to mention how beautiful they are! They will become your best friends in exchange for some head pets and treats.

THURS 12/15: Our 11th animal is Buddy – a 1yo Shepherd mix! From the RISPCA: Everybody meet Buddy!! He is a happy excited young man! Buddy enjoys nothing more than running his giggles out. Buddy would love to have an active owner that will take him on adventures like hikes and trips to the beach! Due to his extra exuberance, Buddy could go to a home with older kids, but may be a bit much for small kids or cats. He should also be a solo dog because he doesn’t like to share his toys.

FRI 12/16: Our 12th animals are Daffodil, Poppy, Orchid & Lotus (4 baby rat brothers) – Meet the Flower Litter! From the RISPCA: Daffodil, Poppy, Orchid, and Lotus are all bonded brothers and will be adopted in pairs of your choice or all together! This crew is about 4 months old and was born in the shelter about a week after they were brought in.  They’ve been getting lots of attention and socialization from our staff and volunteers and are now looking for a nice, loving forever home!
