Heather at the Gloria Gemma Flames of Hope
Join Heather Gersten and Lite 105 at the Gloria Gemma Flames of Hope: A Celebration of Life from 5:30-7:30pm on October 4th!
The Flames of Hope event is just part of the weekend-long celebration which aims to embrace anyone who has been impacted by cancer.
The weekend begins on Saturday morning (10/4) with the Passport to Survivorship Expo at the Rhode Island Convention Center. This free experiential health event is open to the public and brings together the latest in medical cancer care with holistic wellbeing. Passport features over 40 vendors, interactive health exhibits, health screenings and learning sessions.
In the afternoon of 10/4, the celebration moves outside to Station Park for the free Celebration of Life Festival, featuring the Illuminations of Life Ceremony and Torch Procession—a moving story of hope, faith, strength, courage, and determination is told through beautiful music, stunning choreographed ballet, and is punctuated by the lighting of the state house in pink.
After the Illuminations of Life Ceremony and Torch Procession, the celebration moves into Station Park for food, a free concert, dancing, and family-fun activities. There are also two ticketed events to help further support the Foundation—the VIP Pink Party and the Taste of Hope Food and Wine Tasting.
The weekend concludes on Sunday (10/5) morning with the Gloria Gemma 5K. A river of pink flows through the streets of historic Providence as thousands of people come together for the Foundation’s largest fundraiser, which helps support the free programs and services offered to those touched by cancer.
