September 11th Community Events & Observances
September 11th is a day for our community to come together in unity, honor, and reflection. As we mark National Day of Service and Remembrance, we with Southern New England in honoring the lives lost, the heroes who responded, and the spirit of service that unites us all.
Whether you are looking to participate in a morning fitness tribute, engage your family in community service, or join a local evening gathering, there are numerous ways to connect across our region. Rhode Island 9/11 Events
Naval Station Newport 9/11 Remembrance Run 5K
- Time: 6:00 AM
- Location: John H. Chafee Fitness Center, 1109 Taylor Drive, Building 1109, Newport
- Details: A commemorative 5K fun run and walk honoring the heroes lost on September 11. The event begins and ends outside the fitness center and welcomes participants of all fitness levels.

Rhode Island College 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony
- Time: 8:46 AM to 9:30 AM
- Location: 9/11 Monument next to Adams Library, 600 Mount Pleasant Avenue, Providence
- Details: The Rhode Island College community will gather to honor those who lost their lives and made the ultimate sacrifice on September 11, 2001.

West Warwick 25th Anniversary 9/11 Commemoration
- Time: 5:00 PM
- Location: Senator Roch Riverwalk at the JAYCEE Arboretum, Riverpoint Community Park, 110 Hay Street, West Warwick
- Details: A public ceremony honoring the victims, survivors, first responders, military personnel and others affected by the September 11 attacks. The observance will include veterans’ organizations, public-safety departments, clergy, community members and the Rhode Island Wing Civil Air Patrol.

Rhode Island Office of Veterans Services
The Rhode Island Office of Veterans Services connects veterans, active-duty service members, members of the Guard and Reserve and military families with benefits, documentation assistance, referrals and support services. The office also manages the Rhode Island Veterans Home and Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery.

Warwick 25th Anniversary 9/11 Commemoration

9/11: “We Promise to Never Forget”
