Neil Diamond has announced Wild At Heart, a previously unreleased album set for release on May 8. The project pulls from the sessions that shaped 12 Songs and Home Before Dark, two albums that marked a quieter, more reflective chapter in his catalog.
A new announcement says Diamond recently revisited that material and finished a group of songs that had been left behind. The album includes nine unreleased tracks along with an alternate version of Forgotten, giving listeners a fresh look at work that started years ago but was never fully completed.
The title track has already been introduced ahead of the album, along with a video, offering an early sense of the record’s mood. Taken together, the songs point back to a period when Diamond was leaning into spare arrangements and direct writing rather than the larger production style tied to some of his earlier hits.
For longtime fans, the release adds another layer to a well-known era of his career. For newer listeners, it opens a door to music that had been sitting unheard until now.
