The Heather & Matty PODscription Podcast

Join Heather Gersten and Matty Blake LIVE weekdays 6-10am and then hear the weekend Heather & Matty Remix on Saturdays from 6-10am!
ABOUT HEATHER & MATTY:
Heather grew up in New Rochelle, New York, and worked as a News, Traffic, and Hollywood Reporter for radio stations in the NY/NJ/CT Tri-State Area including landing a gig as Danny Bonaduce’s sidekick in NYC! 2025 marks 22 years for Heather on Lite 105! Heather is married to a Waltham, MA Firefighter, and together they have 3 kids and 2 rescue dogs (Jett & Goose)! Heather‘s also the Lite 105 Assistant Program Director and Imaging Director and she co-hosts the “Wicked Awesome 80’s Show” each Saturday night on Lite 105. In her downtime (when she has some), Heather enjoys family time, going out to dinner, crafting, and cheering on her kids at their hockey and lacrosse games. Heather also supports several local charities such as the RISPCA, Mentor RI, Hasbro Children’s Hospital, and the Gloria Gemma Breast Cancer Resource Foundation. Heather met Matty over 20 years ago while working at a radio station in Boston and she’s never had a better radio partner than him!
When Matty’s not busy being the “Matty” half of the Lite 105 morning show, he’s on his 10th season (and counting) as the on-camera host of The Curse Of Oak Island: Drilling Down. He’s also the host of The Secret Of Skinwalker Ranch: Behind The Gates. Both of those shows are on History Channel. Matty’s starred in dozens of national network on-camera commercials and he’s sold you everything from Dasani Water to Verizon phones. He’ also been in a few of your favorite TV shows and films and is very proud of the popular podcast he created called Rated “P” For Paranormal with co-host Anthony Arkin. Fun fact: he’s the son of Academy Award-winning actor Alan Arkin. Some say Matty’s wife, Colleen, should be a Saint. He also has a son (Max) and a dog (Rocky), and he calls them each other’s names constantly because he’s slowly turning into his Dad.

HEATHER & MATTY’s LITE 1-0-5 THINGS:

5 THINGS ABOUT ME:
1. I’m a crazy dog lover, and we’re currently on our “3rd administration.” We had Emmett and Gibson (both Goldens), Tackett and Gus (both rescue Labs), and now we have Jett (a rescue Lab Mix) and Goose (a long-haired-Jack Russell something or other mixed with who knows what).
2. I really LOVE watching TV. Series (Ted Lasso), period pieces (Downton Abby, The Gilded Age), thrillers, true-crime, docs, biopics… but my current absolute fave is Outlander and now Outlander: Blood of my Blood. I even set up a fan page on Facebook and Instagram called “Outlandish Heather” & every once in a while, I get to interview the cast, and it’s amazing.
3. I’m a hockey fan! Love the game. Never played it myself. Ok, I did once, and I was terrible. I’m also a Hockey Mom. My son Jack is a goalie for the Boston University Men’s Ice Hockey Team (He also played Club Ice Hockey and Roller Hockey for BU), and he’s also a Professional Roller Hockey goalie. If only he made NHL-like $$!
4. I’ve had an amazing radio career and have met so many celebs! In the past decade, I’ve had some big ones, too, like Elton John and Billy Joel! My biggest interview, though, was with Steve Perry. I’ve talked with him in person and on the phone, and it never gets old.
5. Fave Foods: I’m in a relationship with pasta. We love each other very much. I will also never say no to shrimp, anything with coconut (especially piña coladas), and toffee.

FIVE EXPRESSIONS COMMONLY USED BY ME:
5. “Have I told this story before?”
4. “I have? Cool. I’m going to tell it again now anyway.”
3. “Stop fiddle faddling.”
2. (Full singing voice) “On the wings of loooove!🎵🎶”
1. “No Way!”
