87-year-old Patty Ris was eating a hamburger at a senior center in Cincinnati recently, when she started choking. No one knew what to do, there was panic, until the guy next to her immediately stood her up, and did the Heimlich maneuver. Patty coughed up a piece of hamburger, and started breathing again. The mystery guy saved her life. There was applause, pats on the back, and then SHOCK and SURPRISE when it was revealed that the guy was 96 year old DR. HENRY HEIMLICH, the guy who INVENTED the Heimlich maneuver back in 1974. He said he’s been doing the maneuver to demonstrate to people for 40 years but this was the first time he’d EVER done the Heimlich maneuver in an EMERGENCY before.
