Sabrina Carpenter has filed a civil harassment restraining order against a 31-year-old man following an alleged incident at her Los Angeles home in May.
In court documents filed May 29, Carpenter alleged that William Applegate came to her property unannounced and without permission on May 23. The filing claims he crossed onto a neighboring property to get around security fencing before approaching the front door of her home.
According to the court filing, Carpenter alleged that Applegate grabbed the door handle and attempted to enter the residence. A member of her security team intervened, and police later responded to the property. Applegate was arrested on suspicion of criminal trespass, according to the filing.
The request for protection also names Carpenter’s sister, Sarah Carpenter, and George Smith, who live with her, as protected parties.
Carpenter stated in the filing that the alleged incident left her concerned for her safety and the safety of others in the home. No criminal charges had been filed at the time.
