Meet Heather & Matty’s FURRY FRIENDS of the WEEK (11/24/25), the sweetest mother-father-son trio >> Chai, Arlo, and Mango! The RI Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals says, “this little family has been through more than animals ever should. Chai, Arlo, and Mango came to us after their owners were suddenly deported, leaving the remaining relatives unable to care for them. In an instant, everything they knew was gone. Totally heartbroken and unsure of where their family went, the trio took a little while to settle in and feel safe again. Chai and Arlo are Mango’s parents, and they are a little more outgoing than their son. Chai is an absolute sweetheart and loves to be pet. Arlo is also very affectionate, but he is more adventurous and playful. Mango is on the shy side, but once he lets his guard down, he is sweet as can be! All three of them love snacks, and they are all incredibly bonded to each other. Chai, Arlo, and Mango are hoping for a home that will take them in together and give them the love and stability they lost. They’re ready for a second chance at a loving family.” Please adopt/share today!

Heather & Matty’s FURRY FRIEND of the WEEK (11/18/25) is DORIS! The RISPCA says, “Doris is a playful and affectionate terrier mix with a personality as unforgettable as her looks! This sweet girl has a unique black-and-white coat like a panda, a cow, and even a little like a yin and yang symbol and just like the symbol, Doris brings the perfect balance of fun and love into the right home. Doris is full of joyful energy and absolutely lives for playtime, especially when other dogs are involved. She gets so excited to make new dog friends and could thrive in a home with another playful pup.
With her charming personality, adorable markings, and social spirit, Doris is truly one of a kind. She’s ready to find a loving home where she can be her sweet, silly self! If you think that’s with you, please adopt/share today!”

Heather & Matty’s FURRY FRIEND of the WEEK (11/11) is LUNA! The RISPCA says, “Luna, a sweet and stunning 4-year-old Doberman Pinscher with a heart as big as her smile! This affectionate girl is looking for a family where she can keep spreading her love and loyalty. Luna has lived happily with a small dog and lots of young children, and she’s a total social butterfly. She loves other dogs and enjoys playtime, snuggles, and being part of the family action. Whether she’s romping in the yard, going for a walk, or curling up next to you on the couch, Luna just wants to be close to her people. She’s spayed, up to date on her vet care, and ready to start her next adventure with a family who will adore her as much as she’ll adore them. If you’re looking for a smart, loving, and loyal companion who gets along with everyone she meets, Luna might just be your perfect match!” Adopt/Share today!

Heather & Matty’s FURRY FRIEND of the WEEK (11/3) is LOLA! The RISPCA says, “This adorable 1-year-old Boston Terrier is ready to steal hearts (and probably your spot on the couch)! With her big expressive eyes and sweet personality, she’ll quickly become your little shadow. Lola is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, and ready to meet her forever family. If you’re searching for a sweet, smart, and devoted companion, Lola may be the perfect addition to your home.” Adopt/Share today!

🎤 “LADIES AND GENTLEMEN… Stepping into the ring, with lightning-fast paws and a stare that could knock out any feather toy —> introducing the undefeated, the unpredictable, the undisputed champion of playtime… MAZEY! 🥊🐾
She’s Heather & Matty’s FURRY FRIEND of the WEEK (10/27/25)! The RISPCA says, “This fierce feline is always ready for a sparring session. Wand toys? Tapped out. Crinkle balls? Down for the count. Feather teasers? She’s the reigning champ. Whatever challenger enters her ring, Mazey is ready to take them down with flair. Mazey is looking for her ultimate tag-team partner. She wants a cat-savvy home with no other pets or kids—this is a solo title fight. At first, she’ll keep her guard up, but once you’ve earned her trust, you’ll get VIP backstage access: head rubs and scratches on her terms. So… who’s ready to step into the ring with Mazey and take home the gold?” Please adopt/share today!

Heather & Matty’s FURRY FRIEND of the WEEK (10/20/25) is JUNIPER! The RISPCA says, “Juniper is a sweet, playful girl. She could spend hours running around and sniffing everything and anything! You’ll find that this spunky pup loves treats and is sure to tell you all about it in true hound fashion. That nose could sniff out cookies from a mile away! Juniper has lived successfully with another dog in the past, so she may do well with another dog of similar size and energy as her in her new home as well. If you’re looking for a true loyal companion who would be a fantastic hiking companion, Juniper is your girl!” Learn more here!

Heather & Matty’s FURRY FRIEND of the WEEK (10/6/25) is GHOST! The RISPCA says, “There’s a ghost at the shelter! But his hauntings are not very scary! Meet Ghost, the wiggliest, happiest, cuddle bug! This playful pup has won over the hearts of all our staff members and is ready to meet his new family. Ghost would do best in a home with teens + and as an only dog. He may not mind having dog friends that come to visit, but at the end of the day, he’d prefer to be the only king of the couch. Ready to add a new ghoul to your haunted mansion?” Learn more here!

Heather & Matty’s FURRY FRIEND of the WEEK (9/29/25) is ARCHER! The RISPCA says, “Archer is a big, lovable teddy bear who is ready to steal your heart! Whether he’s sitting in your lap or going for a nice, long walk, he is ready to be your loyal companion. Archer loves people and wants all the affection he can get! He’d do great in a home with someone willing to give him time and love to get comfortable. Learn more at >> https://www.rispca.org/adoptable-dogs

Heather & Matty’s FURRY FRIEND of the WEEK (9/15/25) is GOONIE! The RISPCA says, “Goonie is a curious fella that loves going on strolls and sniffing out snacks. He is a pretty easy-going kind of guy who enjoys spending time outdoors. If you are looking for a good companion to join you on some outdoor adventures as the winter months creep up, look no further than Goonie!” Adopt and/or share today!

Heather & Matty’s FURRY FRIEND of the WEEK (9/8/25) is OSCAR the Cat! The RI Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals says, “Oscar is one of the most lovely cats we have ever met! He was surrendered to us due to relentless bullying from other cats in his previous home. His owner was SO heartbroken, but knew it was the best decision for him. Oscar is much happier now and has many volunteers and staff who adore him! He wants nothing more than to be in your lap, purring the day away. He really enjoys having company as much as possible, and he does get pretty lonely on the weekends when his human officemate is out. Someone who’s retired or works from home would be purrfect for him! He’s talkative, playful, VERY affectionate, and seriously one of the most tolerant cats we’ve ever encountered. Oscar is the whole package! Oscar does have a gastrointestinal condition that is being managed with daily medication and a prescription diet. Fortunately, he takes his medicine with ease! Oscar’s adoption includes a medical consultation with our veterinarian to review his care plan.” Adopt and/or share today!

Heather & Matty’s FURRY FRIEND of the WEEK (9/2/25) is AMORA! The RISPCA says, “Amora is the most beautiful hippo in the whole world! She can be a little nervous, so sometimes just relaxing on a couch or hanging out in the yard is her preferred past time. Every once in a while, though, she will get the hippo zooms, which is pretty much just a happy little march! Amora is super smart and loves to learn new things. When she masters a trick, her smile could light up the night!”

Heather & Matty’s FURRY FRIENDs of the WEEK (8/11/25) are Santana & Finn! The RISPCA says, “With personalities similar to their TV show counterparts, they’re bound to steal your hearts. Santana, who can be a little bit feisty, is in reality just a huge softie who loves to explore and soak in all the attention. Finn, on the other hand, is sweet, outgoing, and loves people, but not as much as he loves Santana. If you’re looking for the two best friends to bring music and love into your home, consider these two Glee kids! (UPDATE 8/13: THEY HAVE BEEN ADOPTED!)
Heather & Matty with today’s FURRY FRIEND of the WEEK (6/9/25) >> Figgaro the Cat! The RISPCA for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals says “Isn’t Figgaro the cutest, chubbiest-cheeked boy you’ve ever laid eyes on? This big guy has an even bigger heart and is full of personality. He’s affectionate, playful, and absolutely lives for mealtime—food is definitely the way to his heart! With his charm, expressive face, and lively energy, Figgaro will bring tons of joy and entertainment to the right home. If you’re looking for a fun, food-loving feline who keeps things interesting, Figgaro is your guy! With questions about Figgaro, or any of our other adoptable cats, please email cats@rispca.org”

Heather & Matty’s FURRY FRIEND of the WEEK (6/2/25) is JABBA! The RISPCA says, “There are just so many great things to say about Jabba! This large boy came to us, and it was clear why he has his name as he’s got some weight to drop! With proper diet and slow and steady walks, Jabba has been doing fantastically on his weight loss journey and is ready to find a home with a comfy bed to continue it. Jabba is a playful guy and loves his toys in the yard. His absolute favorite are toy balls that are just as big as him! It’s an absolute joy for him to punt the ball around with his noggin! Jabba would do best in a home with kids 8+, as sometimes he can be a bit of a bulldozer when he starts playing!” Please adopt/share today!

Heather & Matty’s FURRY FRIEND of the WEEK (5/21/25) is MAPLE! The RISPCA says, ” This 5-year-old Beagle Mix girl is Maple! She’s a happy-go-lucky gal. She’s as sweet as maple sugar and is ready for a home to call her own! Maple has successfully lived with school-aged kids and another dog! This beautiful, playful girl will be the perfect addition to any family!” Please adopt/share today!

Heather & Matty’s FURRY FRIEND of the WEEK (5/12/25) is BUTTON! The RISPCA says “Cute as can be, Button is a really sweet girl. She loves attention and is all wags and wiggles. Even when she rolls over for belly rubs, she’s still wiggling! Button was brought to us after being found tied to a tree in a local park. We don’t know how long she was there for, but she was pretty scared when she came in. With patience and a lot of peanut butter, Button came out of her shell. A lot. When Button becomes overzealous, she makes the most dramatic sounds we have ever heard! We believe that Button is a younger gal and is learning and figuring out how to be more patient, calm, and understanding of her surroundings. Button will need a home that will be patient and consistent with her as she continues to learn. Teens + and no other pets (at least for now) would be ideal to help Button easily transition to a new home. Though she is a bit of a drama queen, it is nearly impossible not to fall in love with this sweet girl! If you are interested in applying for Button, please fill out an adoption application! The application can be found on our website: https://www.rispca.org/adoptable-dogs”

Heather & Matty’s FURRY FRIEND of the WEEK (5/5/25) is ALI! THE RISPCA says “Ali is a gorgeous little lady with such a silly personality! She talks all day long and loves climbing all over you for pets. Sometimes she can overdo it, so just be mindful of her body language. Ali is very playful and active, but she also likes her cuddle time! With questions about Ali, or any of our other adoptable cats, please contact Olivia at olivia.warburton@rispca.org

Heather & Matty’s FURRY FRIEND of the WEEK (4/28/25) is KODA! THE RISPCA says “This guy is a handsome fella who is just a tad bit shy. He very quickly warms up and is ready to give all the affection and get all the love that anybody is willing to offer him! Koda is not a fan of large gatherings and would prefer to be your companion on walks or a hike rather than visiting a dog park. He’d also prefer to stay at home and binge-watch the newest Netflix rom-com than go to that party everyone will be at. Just be careful with the movie night popcorn, cause this pooch adores treats, and might sneak the whole bowl!

Heather & Matty’s FURRY FRIEND of the WEEK (4/21/25) is a Syrian Hamster named BANANA MANIA, one of the “Sunny Day” siblings! The RI Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals says their Syrian Hamsters are only 3 months old! They love to nap during the day and are super active at night. These little ones will make you smile with their antics, as they can be super active balls of fluff. You will quickly gain their heart if you provide them with their favorite seeds or a nice chew toy! Syrian Hamsters require a minimum of 600 sq. inches of roaming space; ideally, 900 square inches. They’d be the perfect fit for any family wanting to welcome these cute nocturnal animals into their home. If you have questions about Banana Mania or any of our other small animals available for adoption, e-mail Jeremy.Mombourquette@RISPCA.org”

Heather & Matty’s FURRY FRIEND of the WEEK (4/14/25) is LUCA the Cat! The RI Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals says “Luca is a handsome 4-year-old cat looking for a home. He was surrendered due to a housing change, and while shelter life was tough for him at first, especially around other cats, he has blossomed since moving into a staff office. Luca can be a little uncertain in new situations and startles easily with loud noises, so he’ll do best in a calm, predictable home as the only pet. Once he feels safe, he loves being close to his person and enjoys affection. He is great at communicating when he’s had enough, so understanding cat body language is key to building a strong bond with him. Luca loves interactive play and playing with wand toys help to keep him mentally engaged and burn off energy. With the right person, Luca will be a wonderful companion. If you have any questions about Luca, please email cathy.simonini@rispca.org.” Please adopt/share today!

Heather & Matty’s FURRY FRIEND of the WEEK (4/7/25) is Kiki, a 13yo cat but she acts like she’s a kitten! The RISPCA says “Kiki is independent, but incredibly sweet and loves to be pet. She’s also the softest cat… sooo easy to cuddle.” With questions about Kiki, or any other adoptable cat, please contact Olivia at olivia.warburton@rispca.org

Heather & Matty’s FURRY FRIEND of the WEEK (3/31/25) is FERN is a 4yo Coonhound Mix! The RISPCA says “Fern may take a minute to warm up to you, but she is sure to be a true loyal companion. Fern could spend hours upon hours following her nose, sniffing everything! While she is a laid-back kind of gal, Fern is on the larger/taller side and would do best in a home with teens+. Fern would love a home with a yard to run, jump, and sniff around in. Could your home be the one?

Heather & Matty’s FURRY FRIEND of the WEEK (3/25/25) is JUNIPER, a 4-year-old Coonhound Mix! The RISPCA says, “Juniper is a sweet, playful girl. She could spend hours running around and sniffing everything and anything, so a fenced-in yard would be best for this large gal. You’ll find that this spunky pup loves treats and is sure to tell you all about it in true hound fashion. With a high prey drive, cats in the home are a no-go for this girl. Juniper has lived successfully with another dog in the past, so she may do well with another dog of similar size and energy as her in her new home as well. Teens+ would be the best match for Juniper as she can be a little demanding and is a large gal. If you’re looking for a true loyal companion who would be a fantastic hiking companion, Juniper is your girl!”

Heather & Matty’s FURRY FRIEND of the WEEK (3/17/25) is Spud! The RISPCA says “Spud is a young, handsome, potato mix breed! Our boy Spud is an absolute ball of energy. Spud’s favorite things to do are go for long walks and zoom around the play yard. He enjoys playing tug and fetch and would be a great addition to your family! Spud can get jumpy at times and could use some work on his basic commands. It is best he goes home as the only pet and with adults only!”

Heather & Matty’s FURRY FRIEND of the WEEK (3/10/25) is Chanel the cat! The RISPCA says “Chanel is a gorgeous chunky lady with the most beautiful green eyes! She may be a little shy at first, but she’ll certainly warm up in no time. Due to her “chunkiness”, Chanel could use a little diet and lots of playtime! With questions about Chanel, or any of our other adoptable cats, please contact Olivia at olivia.warburton@rispca.org

Heather & Matty’s FURRY FRIEND of the WEEK (3/3/25) is PIPER the dog, a 6yr old Beagle/Lab mix aka a LEAGLE! The RISPCA says, “Piper is a really sweet girl once she has a chance to settle in and get to know you. She loves cookies and going on strolls. Her absolute favorite though, is simply spending time with her loved ones! Piper can be an anxious girl, so a family with teens + would be the best fit for Piper. She has successfully lived with cats, so her new family may even include a feline friend!”

Heather & Matty’s FURRY FRIEND of the WEEK is MAIZIE the CAT! (2/24/25) The RISPCA says “Maizie is an 8-year-old cat that was transferred to us from a local animal shelter. She had a hard time settling in at the previous shelter, and she also struggled when she first came to us, letting everyone know just how much she disliked the other cats! Hisses, growls and even some swatting were part of her daily routine…that is until she got the chance to be an office cat. Now we can see the cat the Maizie really is! Since getting her own space, she has blossomed into an affectionate and active lady. She loves getting head scratches, playing with gentle wand toys, enjoys being brushed, and taking over your work space! Maizie would do well in a quiet home without other pets or young children, and with someone who is on the cat savvy side. She does need someone who can read her body language – she knows what she likes, but she’ll let you know when she’s had enough. Someone who works from home or retired would be a great match for Maizie, as she doesn’t like to be alone for long. With questions about Maizie, or any of our other adoptable cats, please contact Olivia at olivia.warburton@rispca.org”

Heather & Matty’s FURRY FRIEND of the WEEK is JUNIOR THE DOG! The RISPCA says “Junior is a fun-loving happy Hound Mix. He is quite inquisitive anywhere he goes and enjoys sniffing and investigating every environment he enters. The only thing he loves more than sniffing around is leaning on you and getting pets! At 6.5 years old he has the perfect temperament and energy level, he loves other dogs, and he is happy to go on casual strolls or just hang out on your couch. We think he would make a great family companion dog. When Junior came to us, we noticed some limping. After some investigation from our clinic staff, we found that he has an old injury. During the adoption process,s our medical director will go over what this means for Junior and his care.”

Heather & Matty’s FURRY FRIEND of the WEEK (2/10/25) is Bubba the Cat! The RISPCA says “Bubba is the sweetest boy in the whole world! He’s just a little rough around the edges. Bubba loves everyone! He came to us with a wound on his tail, which means he will have to be quarantined from animals and young kids for 6 months. Any concerns may be discussed with our cat staff! With questions about Bubba, or any of our other adoptable cats, please contact Olivia at olivia.warburton@rispca.org”
Please adopt/share today and check out the RISPCA’s “Tearin’ Up My Heart” fundraiser at rispca.org

Heather & Matty’s FURRY FRIEND of the WEEK (2/3/25) is HATI! The RISPCA says “This good-looking fella is estimated to be about a year old. He’s a really playful pup who loves both toys and the zoomies. Hati does like other dogs, but he does seem to prefer females pups over other males. We don’t know for sure what breed Hati is, but our best guess would be some type of cattle dog or a type of herding breed. Hati would do best in a home with school-aged kids and up and no cats.

Heather & Matty’s FURRY FRIEND of the WEEK (1/27/25) is KOGI, a 2-year-old dog! The RISPCA says “Kogi is a happy, bouncy, active love bug. While she could spend the day running around and jumping up and down, she wouldn’t mind spending at least some time melting into hugs. Due to her level of energy, Kogi would do best in a home with only those 16+ and with no other pets. Adopt and/or share today please!

Heather & Matty’s FURRY FRIEND of the WEEK (1/20/25) is FERN! The RISPCA says “Fern is a bit of a shy girl. She may take a little while to warm up to you, but she is sure to be a true loyal companion. This girl may like food just a little too much, so a home as the only pet and teens+ would be the best match for her. Fern could spend hours upon hours following her nose, sniffing everything! So a fenced-in yard would be best for her, this way she doesn’t get herself lost following smells. Fern is a true hound, a true singer at heart. So this is something to consider if you would like to add this beautiful girl to your home.” Adopt and/or share today please!

Heather & Matty’s FURRY FRIEND of the WEEK (1/14/25) is Elphaba, but she’s not wicked at all! The RISPCA says “she would love a calm home to chill in! If you have questions about Elphaba or any of our other adoptable cats, please contact Olivia at olivia.warburton@rispca.org”
